History of ETEI Pahimahura

Government Elementary Teacher Education Institute, Pahimahura established in 1958 as the name of E.T School and started providing training to the teachers. Further there is an upgradation to the Certified Teacher (CT) training course in the year of 1971. Further the course modified to Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) in the year of 2014 and the minimum educational qualification to take admission in the course is 10+2. Here are further upgraded the strength of 50 numbers of pupil teachers to 100 numbers with the quality enhancement of staff position as well as the infrastructural improvement in the year of 2014. Due to increasing the numbers of Urdu schools in the state, 25% of the strength reserved for the minority (Urdu community) students. The institution provided distance education program (DEP) to the Inservice teachers in the district as per the requirement and order of the government of Odisha.

  • Get ready of high-quality teachers for elementary level of schools according to changing context, who could be leaders and guide of universal, inclusive and multilingual education.
  • Conduct quality research for elementary education in collaboration with concern DIET on the field of school education.

Mission

  • Establish the implementation of educational programmes and policies of Government of Odisha and Government of India.
  • Progress and circulate various curricular teaching learning materials (TLM) including e-resources for teachers and pupil teachers.
  • Ensure teacher education program in multi-language i,e Odia-Urdu, Odia-Parsian, Odia-Sanskrit and Hindi language teacher education courses.
